As its says, in the time ofgreat flood, the prophet used a garnet lantern to safely direct his Ark through the darkness of the nighttime .The mystique belief told that garnets used by many fearless discoverers and travelers for protection. Garnets considered as popular talismans at those ancient times since it was believed that garnets illuminate the night and able to prevent their wearer from any kind of evil. This legend can be explained by today’s modern science, the luminance of garnet is stimulated by its high refraction of light.

Garnets are gemstones which are in high demand and are often worked into pieces of jewelry. They are available mostly in red, but other color such as green, pale to bright yellow, fiery orange and fine earth- and umbra-shades also exist. Only blue is a color which is not available in garnet. One of garnet unusual characteristic; their color tone can alter depending on whether theyre seen in natural or artificial light, attract jewelry and gemstone lovers.

Some of famous garnets are Spessartine Garnets (bright orange to orange-red) and Mandarin Garnet (orange). Both are extremely rare and highly priced. But not like green garnets which its rarity and beauty attract Russias leading court jeweler Carl Fabergé use it in his creations.
The star among green garnets is Demantoid. Its enormous brilliance is even higher than that of diamond. They can be found in Urals Mountain only.
